Warrior Community:

As we approach the end of the school year, I want to remind everyone that the last day of school will be May 23, 2023 for students with a full day of school.  Teachers will be done on May 24, 2023 and once again the district will celebrate our retirees and acknowledge years of service employees at CW with a luncheon.

At the April Board meeting the Board set next year's tax rate at $11.1732, down from $12.8918 this current school year.

Prom is this weekend. Field trip season begins for all of our students.  Spring sports are in full
swing and summer practices begin soon.  Band and Vocal programs wrap up their end of the year concerts and contests and a majority of the Senior class is on the final countdown.

On the 12th of May when you see our students out in the Community, it is our 3rd annual Warrior Pride Day.  We appreciate giving back to our community members.

We will celebrate teacher appreciation week, the week of May 8, 2023.  As a school district with an enrollment of 400 students, I’m very proud of the academic programs being offered to our students.  These programs are a direct reflection of the quality of staff employed by Calamus-Wheatland.  When you have an opportunity, say thanks to the staff members because they are doing an excellent job.

I encourage all of you to follow our social media pages, our website and our app to keep up to date on all of the day-to-day happenings and accomplishments of students and staff.

I would like to thank each and every one of you for your support and patience throughout this
school year.  The strength of the Calamus-Wheatland School District is that there is tremendous support whether there are good times or bad.  It is a pleasure to work in a district that values education.  I feel fortunate to be one of the leaders of our district.

Sincerely,

Lonnie Luepker
