Updated School Closure Notice 4/17/2020
Many of you have already heard that Governor Reynolds announced in her press conference this morning that schools will continue to be closed through the end of the school year. Calamus/Wheatland will continue with voluntary educational opportunities until the scheduled end of the year. As school districts receive more guidance, we will continue to update our families and staff.
Stay Safe! Lonnie Luepker

There have been questions about Driver Education at CW starting after school ends in May. Please be patient as the AEA is working on how to deliver the programming. In the next few weeks the AEA rep will be contacting all families that have registered. Thanks---Mr. Luepker

Upon approval of our voluntary learning opportunities through the Dept. of Education the days that have been missed count as school days & will not need to be made up. Currently student last day of school is scheduled for 5/27/20 & last day for teaching staff is 5/28/20.

HS parents/students:
On-line college courses that students have been taking this semester continue to be taught and are being graded. These are different than concurrent courses taught by our instructors. Questions? Contact Mr. LeBeau & Mrs. O'Donnell.

Grab-N-Go meals can be picked up tomorrow, Wed, Apr 15 & Fri, April 17 this week. The meals include lunches for Wednesday, Thursday & Friday & breakfasts for Thursday, Friday & Monday. If you would like to be added or removed from the list, please contact the high school.

Seniors-your caps and gowns are in. You may pick them up in the high school office anytime this week along with any additional items you ordered (please call first). Rest assured, the District intends to hold a Commencement Ceremony, it may not be held on its originally scheduled date but will be held sometime.

Credit Recovery courses:
If you are enrolled in a credit recovery course in grades 9-12, realize that these courses will continue with Mrs. Simmons and will continue to be graded. Please contact Mrs. Simmons with any questions.

Concurrent enrollment courses for high school students through Clinton, Scott and Kirkwood Community College will continue and are graded.
There are multiple options for grades when it pertains to college credit (traditional graded, pass/fail, withdrawal, etc).
I encourage you to contact Mr. LeBeau and Mrs. O'Donnell to discuss those options, as some of these courses are needed to meet graduation requirements.

Parents: Just a quick update on the current situation as it relates to Cal-Wheat and school closures. We are closed through April 30th at this time. The District applied for and received permission from the Department of Education to continue providing learning opportunities for your children. Staff have met and are planning ways to deliver new learning. That will be through teacher contact, zoom, google classroom, paper packets, email, etc... I want to stress that this is voluntary, but strongly encouraged, and children will receive feedback but no regular K-12 classes will receive grades.

PK-12 Parents/staff/community:
The District will be putting out numerous emails and website posts next week. Rather than putting these in one large email that nobody will read, I’m hoping these will be very building specific. For example these will relate to college courses, elementary learning, credit recovery, concurrent courses, etc.
My hope is that when you see the subject line you will take the time to read the email if it pertains to you.
Thank you for your patience and support as we continue to work together in your child’s educational needs.
Lonnie Luepker

CW FCCLA has a way for you to spread positivity and show support during these tough times. We would love to see paper hearts in your windows or on your door. Show us yours! We will get through this together.
