Hello Parents of 9-12th graders-
On Thursday April 11th, all high school students will have the opportunity to participate in a Career Expo at the DeWitt Career Advancement Center. There will be over 50 local businesses there to share information on their company and organization. Several of these companies are looking for summer and/or part time employment, as well as employment opportunities after graduation. Students can also use this event as a way to learn more about various career fields. Students will be emailed a list of businesses attending, information on what each business has to offer at the fair, sample questions to ask, and tips on how to make the most of the event. Plenty of door prizes will be available for students who are engaged in learning more about local businesses. Please encourage your students to take advantage and participate in this great way to connect with local businesses! If you do not want your student to attend the event, please contact the office so we can remove them from the attendee list.
In addition, there will be a community event from 5:00-7:00. This portion is for the community (parents, previous graduates, students, community members) to attend to learn more about career academies and job opportunities. Please feel welcome to come out to the DeWitt Career Advancement Center to see the building, and learn about what can be offered! If you have any questions regarding the event, please contact Holly Hansen at holly.hansen@cd-csd.org.
