National Honor Society members recently completed a service project making blankets with material donated from John Deere. A local organization will be distributing the blankets to youth in the community.

College biology students attended a University of Iowa college lecture in a class of 600 students. John Hass, 1999 Calamus /Wheatland alumnus, is a University of Iowa instructor and led the our CW students through a college lab.

Career tour of Local 25 Plumbers & Pipefitters and the IBEW Union and training hall Local 145. Students learned about training methods, apprenticeship salaries and benefits that come with a construction union job in the area of electrical, plumbing, and pipefitting.

The Elementary, JH, and HS student council delivered food drive donations to the Carroll Assistance Center in Wheatland yesterday. The elementary/daycare had 1200 items and the JH/HS had 1500 items. Way to go warriors!!

Veterans Day program and luncheon 2024 (part 1 of 4)
We sang the National Anthem and recited the Pledge of Allegiance. Mr. Ray “Bubba” Sorensen, founder of The Freedom Rock, was our guest speaker. 2nd-3rd grade students sang “Yankee Doodle”; the band played “Anthems of the Six Armed Forces”; Alexa Jacobi introduced each Veteran in attendance; Girl Scout Troop 2423 gave each Veteran a card; 6th grade students sang “The Brave”; Legion members performed the Salute to the Dead: Elise Brown honored fallen Veterans with the playing of “Taps”. All Veterans and community members in attendance were served a lunch prepared by our CW nutrition staff of pork loin (provided by the Jeff and Deb Hansen Foundation), party mashed potatoes, peas/carrots mix and dessert. Thank you to our partner First Trust and Savings Bank and everyone involved for making this Veterans Day program so enjoyable. #gocalwheat #gowarriors
