Elementary Families- As the weather warms up, remember students are asked to wear a jacket outside until it is the feel of 60 degrees outside. Our playground is very open and can be a windy and chilly at times, especially at the morning recess. Thank you for understanding.

Our American Heart Association Kids Heart Challenge Event concluded February 18th. Thanks to all that participated in the event! This money goes to a great cause and gets our students learning more about Heart Disease. The entire Calamus-Wheatland CSD raised a grand total of $4,059.11 for the AHA. That is the most we have ever raised!! Big shout out to Warrior Nation for supporting this foundation!

The Scholastic Book Fair has arrived. Second grade students got a sneak peek last week and shared some of their favorite items. Students can browse and shop during the school day and during parent teacher conferences.

Tuesday, the DeWitt Chamber & Development Company hosted a SUCCESS Roundtable event for 10th/11th students. Students met with community leaders on their personal path to SUCCESS with the goal of students thinking creatively on options for their own career path to SUCCESS.

FCCLA happenings:
January 27th: hosted district meeting with 8 other chapters & the event was filled with meetings, networking opportunities, community service & an awesome hands on presentation from both the Calamus & Wheatland Fire Departments.
February 8th: part of the chapter traveled to Des Moines to learn about how the State government works and advocate for CTE courses/fields.
February 14th - February 18th: FCCLA week & we celebrated by showing off our skills, provided staff with warm beverages and giving back to the community.

Noelle was honored for her 1A Cross Country individual state title tonight during the Parade of Champions at the state basketball tournament! Well deserved! #GoWarriors


On Fridays, career speakers share their knowledge with interested 7th-12th graders. Today Marty Traver, an Elkay mechanical engineer, joined us. Marty brought in a hands-on activity, which had the students assemble a product. Kudos to these girls for furthering their knowledge.
