On Tuesday, November 5, Calamus-Wheatland CSD residents will vote on a bond referendum not to exceed $7.5 million. An approved bond would allow the district to:
➡️Renovate the commons area, improve the mechanical systems, and purchase new kitchen equipment at the elementary school in Calamus.
➡️Create a new secure entrance at the Wheatland campus, upgrade mechanical systems, replace windows and floors, renovate the art room, improve the stage area, and upgrade the audio system in the gym.
A new addition with a connection corridor would also be constructed in Wheatland. This would feature a new agriculture classroom, a new career and technical education lab, additional classroom space, and the conversion of some existing rooms.
If voters approve the bond, property taxpayers would see an impact of $2.70 per year on every $1,000 of taxable property value (not assessed value). This would result in an increase of $14.55 per month (or $175.59 per year) on a home worth $150,000.
